The workgroup Demonstrators and Public Relations coordinates the image of our association. This includes publicity for the OR.NET concepts in the form of scientific lectures, as well as the coordination of general public relations work, e.g. via the association website or social media channels. We attach particular importance to the “graspability” of our concepts. To this end we have various mobile demonstration scenarios including cross-manufacturer integration which are available for technical conferences and events. We also operate demonstrators at fixed locations, for example the OR demonstrator site in Leipzig.
In the coming months, the workgroup will concentrate on ways to penetrate further into the specialist community with its topic of integrating cross-manufacturer medical equipment. Besides establishment of the SDC logo as a symbol for the integrability of medical devices, the focus will particularly be on discussions with specialist associations and buying syndicates, as well as specialist clinical societies.
The members of this workgroup have held more than 50 specialist lectures at scientific and industrial conferences over the last two years, presenting this topic to a wide audience. In addition to the organisation of larger mobile OR.NET events at various congresses, e.g. conHiT 2018 or DMEA 2019, the functionalities of the fixed Leipzig and Aachen demonstrator ORs have been presented to visitors of these sites more than 40 times. Visitors to the Leipzig demonstrator include the former German Minister for Health, Hermann Gröhe (2016), the Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretzschmer (2018) and the EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (2018). One particular highlight was presentation of some parts of the demonstrator OR to German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel at the 2017 digital summit meeting.
