On November, 2nd 2021, the first OR.NET and SDC strategy meeting took place. During a full-day web meeting the experts from industry and research discussed hot and future topics in the field of IEEE 11073 SDC-based medical device interoperability. During the first session, we focused on processes and governance topics around SDC. In the following sessions we addressed the standardization of the SDC family and plenty of approval-related aspects. We concluded the meeting with future topics of the OR.NET association. As a result, we discovered key subjects and built up some working groups. The key subjects are in the fields of standardization on the different levels of the SDC family, the IHE SDPi profile, governance of the cryptographical certificates, localization of mobile medical devices for context purposes, approval and test processes, as well as the dissemination of SDC and the internationalization of the community.
